Sunglasses are a very important accessory for many. What you may not know, is that it’s probably helping you look and stay younger as well. The sun plays a major factor in the aging process. The UV rays are bad for your skin, and also terrible for your eyes.

It’s important to keep ultraviolet light from getting into your eyes, or onto your eyelids and the surrounding skin. Excessive exposure to both UVA and UVB radiation can cause a variety of eye problems. These issues include cataracts and loss of vision among people 50 and older.

So what should you do?

Go out and get yourself a pair of sunglasses if you don’t already have one, and be sure to wear them when your out in the sun. Make sure the sunglasses you purchase block out 99 to 100 percent of UV radiation.
